Context of the problem.
European House of Beds manufactures a wide range of box springs and mattresses for furniture chains, bedding specialists, and independent dealers across Scandinavia. Their products are known for their comfort, durability, and high-quality materials, making them a trusted name in the sleep furniture industry.
However, during the mattress production process, several challenges arose. Committed to delivering the highest quality, European House of Beds wouldn’t rest until the issues were resolved and turned to BIT Hotmelt Technology for assistance.
They were experiencing adhesion quality issues and limited production capacity, leading to a lower-than-desired production speed. The goal was to produce one mattress every 30 seconds, requiring improvements in both production speed and adhesive bond strength to meet their targets.

This was partly caused by frequent machine malfunctions and a slow adhesive application process. These factors led to a lower-than-desired production speed.

- Foaming adhesive
Foaming allows the use of a different type of adhesive and ensures better distribution across the mattress components, resulting in a more consistent bond. Additionally, foaming leads to more efficient adhesive usage. - Upgraded adhesive heads and modules
We have installed stationary adhesive heads, one with 55 modules and another with 88 modules. This increases production speed and ensures an even application of adhesive.
